CSPD Techs are responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, and distributing medical and surgical instrumentation, making them the most vital contributors to the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Christian Hospital EMS Academy

Education plays a crucial role in the development of first responders, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics. After recognizing a demand for emergency medical services (EMS) courses, Christian Hospital developed its EMS Academy for those interested in starting or furthering their education in the field.

St. Louis Community College

Current BJC employees who are interested in transitioning to a Medical Assistant role at one of these hospitals first fulfill STLCC's admission requirements. STLCC student information is shared with BJC Human Resources for follow-up as a part of the application process. BJC then conducts a screening and interviewing process, and if selected you would officially transfer into a MA position. Your first few weeks of work are at STLCC in the classroom which is usually 5 days per week during the day. Once training is complete you are assigned to your regular hospital department and shift.

Your BJC Tuition Benefit covers the cost of tuition, however you may be responsible for other expenses such as books, uniforms, CPR certification, etc.

St. Louis Community College

Work with a dedicated STLCC advisor to create a personalized plan between classes offered online or at a St. Louis Community College campus (this program is not offered at a BJC site). In addition to the Associate's in Health Information Technology, a certification in Medical Billing and Coding is also available under this program.

Costs for this program vary based on the tuition rate and the number of credit hours per class, with an average class cost of $550. Should costs exceed your annual benefit amount, tuition continues to be paid to the school and you are are invoiced for any additional amounts, with payment plans available through BILD.

Fontbonne University

By majoring in business administration you’ll combine a strong liberal arts education with business law, economics, and accounting, using case studies and real world, up-to-date analysis of business practices. Fontbonne is proud to maintain this program’s accreditation by The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

This cohort program is offered at the BJC Learning Institute. The degree can be completed in as little as four years depending on previously earned transfer credits and your chosen class schedule. If you have previous credit hours from a different degree, a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies, Business Administration Concentration is also available.

Fontbonne University

With an emphasis on ethics and social responsibility, this program teaches the skills necessary to be effective leaders in a variety of healthcare organizations including hospitals, physicians’ offices, nursing care facilities, home health organizations and more.

This cohort program is offered at the BJC Learning Institute. The degree can be completed in as little as four years depending on previously earned transfer credits and your chosen class schedule. Two classes are offered per term on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville

This program is 100% online and is designed for students with an Associate's degree or at least 30 credit hours of transferable college credit who wish to become medical technologists certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Students can start any term and design their progression at a pace that works with their schedule. Students who apply to this program have the opportunity to waive transcript evaluation and application fees.

Webster University

This program is 100% online and is designed for students with an Associate's degree or at least 30 credit hours of transferable college credit who wish to become medical technologists certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Students can start any term and design their progression at a pace that works with their schedule. Students who apply to this program have the opportunity to waive transcript evaluation and application fees.

Washington University

Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science offers a Master of Health Care Operational Excellence. This program is completed in 3 years, with 3 classes each year.

University of Missouri St. Louis

This program prepares its graduates for professional social work practice. Graduates will have the knowledge, skills, and values for direct social work practice with individuals, families, and older adults or the knowledge, skills, and values to effectively manage and lead human service agencies. Social justice principles guide graduates in their practice at all levels of intervention, particularly with persons who are oppressed because of their color, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation or physical or mental ability.

If you already have a BSW, a Live/Virtual MSW cohort for qualified BJC employees is also available. This program includes:

• Degree completion in three years
• Students have the option of attending in person or virtually
• A set curriculum in Family Practice concentration with a focus in Health and Behavioral Health
• Field practicum at BJC Behavioral Health

This program is designed for nurses holding a master’s degree as an advanced practice nurse, or holding a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a master's degree appropriate to their advance nursing practice role. The need for innovative strategies to improve the nation’s health has created a high demand for doctorally prepared nurses who possess the sophisticated blend of interpersonal, practice, organizational, business and leadership skills as offered in the SIUE DNP program.

The program is offered primarily online, but includes two immersion experiences scheduled for three days in August of each year.
