Mini-MBA Certificate Program

The Mini MBA is a 16 week, non-credit certificate program offered to BJC employees in partnership with the University of Missouri-St. Louis. This is a professional development program taught by UMSL instructors and BJC executives. Classes meet once a week for a three-hour session. The next Mini-MBA session is scheduled to start on August 4, 2010. The Fall 2010 session will be held at the BJC Learning Institute (BLI) Building.

The Mini-MBA provides classes that cover business topics and offers a mix of problem-solving exercises, case studies and interactive class discussions, similar to an actual MBA program, but tailored to a BJC audience. Participants benefit from the MBA-level content, the business expertise of the instructors and the opportunity to interact with BJC executives and colleagues from other BJC business units. There are no tests or homework assignments. Some reading assignments are suggested.

Participants will be chosen by a nomination process from their entity leadership.

More than 200 BJC managers and supervisors have completed the mini-MBA since its inception in 2004, with each session filling to capacity. Gary Stocker, CLL Manager, Learning Partnerships, attributes the success to several factors.
