Life Lessons:
A Curriculum Building Skills for Work and Life

 

The BJC Center for LifeLong Learning in partnership with the University of Missouri Extension presents a 12 week course to help you build the skills that are necessary for successful living.

Course runs two hour sessions twice a week for twelve weeks

Agenda:

  • Session 1-Attitude is a State of Mind
  • Session 2-Building "I-cepts"
  • Session 3-Who's Responsible and Why?
  • Session 4- Talking, Listening and Body Language
  • Session 5-Dealing with Conflict
  • Session 6-Difficult People, Anger and "I" Statements
  • Session 7-Creative Decision Making and Working Together
  • Session 8-True Colors-Personality Temperament
  • Session 9-True Colors-Personality Communication Tool and Emotional Intelligence
  • Session 10-Emotional Intelligence Assessment
  • Session 11-Emotional Intelligence - Social and Personal Components
  • Session 12-Summary and Celebration

Purpose:

To enhance participant's skills in:
  • Recognizing individual potential
  • Making responsible choices
  • Utilizing more meaningful communication
  • Resolving conflict
  • Taking greater control of what happens in life
  • Becoming a promoter of positive change in the work environment
Classes meet for 12 consecutive weeks, 2 hours per week.
The cost of the course is $150.00.
